Dawn

Dawn is an enthusiastic and innovative HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist with excellent problem-solving skills, a friendly approach and an understanding of the importance of working together with customers to achieve the best outcomes for them.

Dawn has significant experience of complex case work in relation to standard and specialist equipment provision, moving & handling assessments/reviews and solutions for clients with long term /progressive conditions and/or physical disabilities. This includes major and minor housing adaptations. Dawn has completed these works for Local Authorities through Disabled Facilities Grants and with also via Case Management Companies since becoming an independent Occupational Therapist in 2022.

When working as a Senior Practitioner for a Local Authority, Dawn created and delivered regularly training and supervision to Trusted Assessors, supporting them in their role to consolidate and develop their skills as part of her role. As an Independent Occupational Therapist, Dawn regular attends community events to deliver talks and presentations at carers groups and professional gatherings.

Dawn is also experienced in working with clients with Learning Disabilities. She works collaboratively with customers/clients and the people that support them to develop and maximise their independent living skills both in the home, online and within the wider community. Dawn has solid understanding and skills relating to Mental Capacity and Best Interests Decisions, and the importance of their use being appropriately applied in this setting.
