Mary

Mary is a specialist occupational therapist with over 25 years’ experience with skills in neurological assessment and rehabilitation. She is highly experienced in vocational rehabilitation and occupational health assessments. In addition, she has a special interest in the challenge of behavioural changes following traumatic brain injury and the experience of carers.

Mary takes a strengths-based approach to occupational health assessments considering an individual’s health requirements within a vocational rehabilitation approach. She is experienced in considering the individual within the workplace ensuring that all parties are effectively involved in the process of vocational rehabilitation. Mary is trained in motivational interviewing and uses these skills to ensure that the assessment process is holistic and client centred.

Mary has vast experience in dealing with clients experiencing behavioural difficulties, awareness issues and capacity challenges. Treatment approaches that Mary uses include functional assessment and grading of activities of daily living, cognitive rehabilitation, practical equipment and strategy solutions.

Mary has enjoyed building and developing relationships and trust between a variety of networks, including housing, mental health services, transitional services, social services and support groups. She works closely with case managers and solicitors within the medical legal field as a treating clinician.
