Mary-Ellen
Mary-Ellen is a highly motivated occupational therapist with over 30 years of experience across a variety of roles and environments within the National Health Service as a clinician, community mental health professional, team lead, senior manager, case manager in Patient Safety, Quality and Care and more recently as a clinical lead in Paediatrics. Having worked with children, young adults, adults and the older person within a range of health care settings such as mental health, acute and community care.
A particular area of expertise involves working with people who have two (or more) diagnoses which combine the mental and physical health spectrums. For example, emotional trauma and injury, clinical depression and chronic condition (such as pain, fatigue or neurological), ADHD and cancer. Mary-Ellen is well versed and adept in applying the principles of occupational assessment and analysis to assist individuals in prioritising and mastering the life skills that are important to them.
Mary-Ellen is one of 23 OTs who has been awarded the national title of OT of the Year in recognition of her work and commitment to her profession
