Mike is an occupational therapist with specialist expertise in neurological rehabilitation working with children and adults with a range of complex rehabilitation needs. This includes experience with a variety of conditions such as acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, dementia, learning disabilities, depression and polytrauma.
Mike’s wide-ranging background of therapy practice spans across acute medical wards, inpatient and community neurorehabilitation and has made him adept in completing functional assessments, assessing seating and postural management, manual handling, and identifying and prescribing specialist equipment to enhance independence. Mike also has experience of assessing for and facilitating minor and major housing adaptations.
Mike thoroughly enjoys working collaboratively with clients in their own environment and implements bespoke rehabilitation packages including vocational rehabilitation to meet his client’s personal goals. This has also included him providing education and training to carers and staff to bring about the best outcomes for his clients.
