
Rachel
Rachel has had a long and varied career spanning both health and social care settings, with 19 years of specialist housing experience and extensive knowledge working with the Disabled Facilities Grant. Rachel’s caseload includes adults and children with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and autism, she has many clients with age related disabilities, including dementia. In addition, she also has experience working in a specialist spinal injury unit.
Rachel works with a range of professionals, including surveyors, builders, architects, grant agencies, and specialist teams such as those working with children or sensory impairment. Rachel provides a thorough assessment of the needs and requirements of her clients, their carers and family, and in collaboration with other professionals. She advises on the best options for adapting the home environment to maximise and maintain their independence, increase safety or assist those who are caring for them. Rachel also provides a consultancy service on housing adaptations to other professionals, including housing teams in cases where there are complaints or ombudsman enquiries. Additionally, she is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Housing Specialist Section.
