Sarah qualified in 2007 with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy and later went on to complete a post-registration MSc in Occupational Therapy in 2016. She also has a post-graduate teaching qualification and works as a senior lecturer in higher education alongside her role in private practice. Her first 12 years were working with adults in neurological rehabilitation and neurological palliative care, both in inpatient settings and the community. She then moved to work with children, young people and their families, predominantly within special educational needs settings. In addition, she has worked as a service manager and as a researcher, focusing on the use of mobile applications for the management of fatigue in multiple sclerosis and on the experience of using Lycra orthoses.
Sarah is an innovative, flexible, and pragmatic occupational therapist, who works with her clients to understand their goals and to identify how she can support them. She is passionate about developing and supporting independence and provides external supervision to occupational therapists to support their professional reasoning. Sarah understands the importance of developing working relationships with everyone involved in an adult or children’s care, making her a strong asset in any rehabilitation team.
