Shelly qualified in 2011 with a BSc. (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa. Since then, she has worked in a range of settings including hospitals, schools, private practice, special care centres and within the home environment. Shelly has experience with individuals, groups, and communities in urban and rural areas; encompassing a variety of ages and disabilities; but has primarily specialised in and focused on working with children and young people with Autism, ADHD, Developmental Delay and Learning Difficulties.

She has also worked with children and young people with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy, Intellectual Disabilities, Sensory Processing Disorder, Behavioural Challenges, Hydrocephalus, Tuberculosis, Burns survivors and various syndromes and genetic conditions, in the past.
