Clare has 15 years’ experience as an occupational therapist and specialises in assessment and rehabilitation of physical and neurological conditions. She has additional post-registration training and experience in a range of assessment and treatment approaches for complex physical needs, along with cognitive perceptual impairment.
Her particular fields of interest are sudden onset neurological conditions, cognitive and perceptual dysfunction, posture management and manual handling. She is also well trained in the management of upper limb function.
Clare can assess for, and give recommendations relating to postural management providing comprehensive assessments of manual handling needs. This can include specialist seating advice and rehabilitation programs to maximise function and quality of life.
Clare is a skilled communicator with clients who are experiencing both physical and cognitive difficulties. Her understanding of complex impairment and participation restriction is invaluable to clients in order to enhance their functional potential and facilitate long-term condition management.
She is also a keen trainer and mentor who is willing to provide this service to others through the OT Service.
