Shirleyanne graduated from Northumbria University in 2014 with a 1st class honours degree.

She has primarily specialised in care of the elderly work, managing complex caseloads in both acute and rehabilitation settings. This has involved supporting people with a range of complex and long-term healthcare needs and through developing an extensive knowledge over a range of clinical areas.  These can be listed as stroke and other neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis, along with trauma and elective orthopaedics, dementia and palliative care.

Currently working within a rehabilitation setting alongside her OT Service work, Shirleyanne is highly skilled in the areas of functional assessment, goal setting and therapy planning as well as developing care plans for those with longer term functional needs.

Shirleyanne boasts vast experience in completing environmental assessments in relation to falls management and prevention, equipment provision and home adaptations.  She also has a great understanding of complex moving and handling allowing her to complete high quality assessments and handling plans.

Shirleyanne maintains her professional registration through reflective practice, regular supervision and attending training courses to ensure her continued professional development. As with all our associates she is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists and registered with HCPC.
